Meanwhile perfectionism was pushing me to be harder on myself than any person deserves and anxiety was causing overwhelming hurdles each day.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa with a supportive, loving family and community. I lived a normal childhood, went to college only a few miles from home and landed great jobs close to home in my preferred field of study. Life was great and was set up exactly how I intended.
Meanwhile perfectionism was pushing me to be harder on myself than any person deserves and anxiety was causing overwhelming hurdles each day.
And, surprisingly to some I’ve recently met, I would not leave home often and was very intentional about avoiding people. Friendships were limited and I had no desire to meet new people.
After I began working with my own coach, I realized this was not a sustainable way of living and some major changes needed to happen. I began my journey to personal development which has ultimately made me into the exact opposite of the “Old Mackenzie” description above.
“this is not a sustainable way of life”.
It wasn’t one thing that changed me. It was the continuous striving for my why
But I changed.
And now devote my life to helping others who are ready for change. Whether in their health, relationships, career, finances or beyond. I believe we all have a purpose in life and once we break through the barriers that are holding us back, we are able to step into our potential.
Education
I founded Mindset by Mackenzie in 2019 and have worked with hundreds of individuals to help them reach their full potential since then.
I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and was privileged to receive my education from a Master Certified Coach (one of fewer than 1,050 in the world) through Life Purpose Institute, an ICF-Accredited Program.
I continued my education by completing the Advanced Practicum and Coaching Program, earning my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) in 2021 and later achieving my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential — an advanced certification that requires extensive coach-specific training, a rigorous performance evaluation, and over 500 hours of coaching experience. This process ensures I bring the highest level of professionalism and impact to my clients. The knowledge, techniques, and experience I’ve gained through this journey have provided me with the tools to create powerful transformations in the lives of my clients.
While I primarily coach individuals, I also host and co-facilitate group coaching programs, retreats, classes and workshops. In 2022, I was honored to join Life Purpose Institute, where I now mentor and support aspiring coaches in reaching their full potential—amplifying the collective impact we can make in the world.
